Who is The Grazie Girl?
Creating The Grazie Girl blog has been a dream of mine for a while. I’m a high school English teacher in a suburb of New York City by day, but a traveler by night…and all other times. My first trip was a cross country haul across America with my grandparents and cousin when I was 9. At 16, I traveled to Spain on a school trip, which was exciting and educational. I, for the first time, witnessed a completely different lifestyle and culture that stemmed from a history beyond the New World. Random trips followed–like the proverbial Spring Break haul to the Bahamas and Acapulco–as well as short weekend trips throughout New England. But the true spirit of European travel flushed through me on a trip to London with my grandmother and two cousins And that was it. The London sparked a passion within me for more European travel. A grand tour of Italy followed–Venice, Florence, and Rome–then came Paris, Cannes, Sicily, Montecatini, and the Amalfi Coast. Clearly, Italy stole my heart. Maybe it’s because my heritage is Italian. Regardless, I can’t get enough. I have returned to Montecatini three more times, Rome twice, and Positano and Florence once. So this website is dedicated to travel itself–and anything making the journey easier and more comfortable–as well as the Italian lifestyle itself.
